Sankore is operated by Shahin Shamsabadi. Throughout these terms, "Sankore," "we," and "us" refer to that operation, and "you" refers to anyone using the app or this website.

What Sankore is

Sankore is a local-first Mac app that converts documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, and other supported formats) into clean Markdown, entirely on your own device. The free tier covers single-file conversion. Sankore Premium is a one-time purchase that unlocks batch conversion and Consolidate (merging multiple converted files into one).

License to use Sankore

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Sankore on your own Mac(s), subject to these terms. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or remove copyright or license notices from the app.

A Sankore Premium license is tied to your purchase and may be activated on up to two devices. Attempting to activate a third device is rejected — see our Privacy Policy for what's recorded to enforce this limit.

We may update the app to fix bugs, add features, or maintain compatibility with macOS. We aren't obligated to provide ongoing support or updates, though we intend to.

Payment and Paddle as merchant of record

Sankore Premium purchases are processed by Paddle, who acts as merchant of record for the transaction — meaning Paddle, not Sankore, is the legal seller on your receipt, handles payment collection, tax, and refunds directly, and guarantees buyers a 14-day withdrawal right on every purchase. Limitation of liability

Sankore is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that conversions will be error-free or that the app will be uninterrupted.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Sankore, and our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for Sankore Premium, if any.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Sankore after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
